* - Pastor appointed
Deacon/Deaconess Ministry*
At SSBC the deacon’s principle function is to glorify God by supporting the purpose and work of God in and through the church.  The general mission of a deacon is to carry out those administrative and ministry needs that free the Pastor, elders and ministerial staff to giving their full attention to praying, reaching preaching, equipping and giving oversight to leadership and shepherding matters of the body.  Pastor appoints spiritually mature disciples to this ministry. Acts 6:1-7

Evangelism Ministry
The purpose of Evangelism at SSBC is to glorify God by helping every believer effectively and faithfully participate with Christ in sharing the gospel by lifestyle and work in our community and the world.  Matthew 28:18-20.

Intercessory Prayer Ministry
Prayer is considered to be one of the most important ministries of SSBC.  No ministry will be effective unless it is bathed in prayer!  Every Church member is encouraged to be an intercessory prayer warrior. “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”  James 5:16

MERCY (Mountain Top Emergency Resource Center for You) House
Our mission is to demonstrate God’s love by alleviating human needs and suffering in this community and beyond.  In an effort to relieve human suffering, we will combat hunger, deprivation, and physical affliction with provision of food, clothing, referral to shelter, referral to medical care and other necessities of life.  Healing this community and beyond, where lives are transformed through Christ’s love grace and compassion.  Ephesians 3:14-19.  Isaiah 61:1, 3, 4

Missionary Ministry
SSBC Missionaries promote ministry in working with the church; to fulfill its mission to save souls for Jesus Christ and assist them in becoming mature Christians.  This ministry also identifies community needs in housing, clothing, food, and cares for the sick and shut-ins.  Matthew 25:24-40

New Members Ministry
SSBC seeks to actively shepherd and assimilate new Christians and new members into church life.  We minister to new members through an assimilation process of welcoming, mentoring, and educating; thereby demonstrating the importance of a close and obedient walk with the Lord and active participation in the local church.  II Corinthians 12:13-20

Prison Ministry
“We’re saved to serve the least, the lost and the left out”. The mission of the St. Stephen Baptist Church Prison Ministry is to offer Christian development and growth to inmates and ex-offenders, through the Word of God, leading them to abundant lives that are healed, restored, renewed, transformed and centered-in-Christ, thereby reducing the cycle of crime and recidivism.  Matthew 25:35-36, 40
