Young Lions
The purpose of Young Lions is to shape African-American boys into followers of Christ and leaders of their families and communities.  The Young Lions program of SSBC IS AN African-American mentoring program for boys 13-18.  The program is designed to help young boys experience and work through the rites of passage to becoming a man.  The group addresses spiritual, emotional, and social needs.

The goal of Young Lions is to teach Black boys what it means to be African American men, spiritually, culturally, and physically.  These three dimensions of self are explored thoroughly to infuse the boys with a strong self-image and positive self-esteem by knowing who they are in Christ.  The basic method by which this goal will be met is to invite Christian African-American men to engage the boys in personal relationships and thus model and teach Black, Christian manhood to them.  The Young Lions curriculum provides a format and structure to facilitate this dynamic.
